My student just told me they can’t finalize anything for Winter Quarter because there’s an academic hold on their account, but they’re being vague and I’m trying to get us unstuck fast. Where exactly do you check at UCSD to see what the hold is
To assist your student in resolving their academic hold, they should first log into TritonLink. This platform provides a comprehensive overview of their account status, including any holds that may be preventing them from finalizing their Winter Quarter registration.
Identifying the Hold
Once logged in, the student will see any active holds prominently displayed on the home page. Each hold typically includes a link or a message directing them to the relevant department for further assistance.
Common Types of Holds
- Academic Advising Hold: Often for students on probation or those needing to meet with an advisor. Resolution requires scheduling a meeting with their college academic advisor.
- Academic Integrity Hold: Issued by the Academic Integrity Office; students must contact this office directly to resolve it.
- Past-Due Balance Hold: Triggered by an outstanding balance of $250 or more; students can resolve this by paying the balance via TritonPay.
- Missing Documents Hold: For students who have not submitted required documents like final transcripts; they should submit these to the Office of the Registrar.
