Hello! I was just curious if there were any mindfulness clubs on campus? My son find himself in these periods of extreme stress throughout the quarter, constantly turning to food, doom scrolling, completely avoiding his work to cope. Especially during midterm and finals season. I find that meditation helps a lot with regulating my nervous system
UC San Diego provides various mindfulness clubs and programs aimed at supporting students during stressful periods, such as midterms and finals.
Student-Run Mindfulness Clubs
Your son can join several student-run organizations that focus on mindfulness and stress management:
- Mindfulness Club: This non-profit organization offers meditation, yoga, and holistic wellness activities, creating an inclusive space for students.
- SKY Wellness Club: Focuses on stress management through the "SKY Campus Happiness" program, which includes yogic stretches, meditation, and rhythmic breathing techniques.
- Active Minds: A mental health advocacy group that promotes psychological well-being through various events on campus.
Students can register for these clubs via TritonConnect and typically attend weekly meetings. Registration for student organizations opens on January 5, 2026, for the Winter quarter.
