Saw this also on the parent FB: UCSD Health insurance- can your student use it when they are home for the holidays or is coverage only on campus? My daughter doesn’t seem to know and needs to go to urgent care!

Urgent Care Access She does not need a referral to visit an urgent care center while away from campus, which simplifies her ability to seek care when needed.

Cost Considerations

  • In-Network Urgent Care: Typically incurs a $50 copay, with the annual deductible not applying.
  • Out-of-Network: Costs are significantly higher, often covering only 60% of allowed charges after the deductible is met.
Virtual Care Option Additionally, she can utilize LiveHealth Online for 24/7 virtual urgent care visits from home, often with low or no copay and no referral required.
