If a student is at 12 units but 4 are waitlisted, does UCSD treat them as full-time for financial aid/housing, or do waitlisted units not count? Please help, none of the facebook groups are able to answer this
At UC San Diego, if a student is enrolled in 12 units but has 4 units waitlisted, they are officially considered to be enrolled in only 8 units. This classification results in a half-time status for financial aid purposes, which means the student would receive a reduced amount of financial aid, not the full amount.
Financial Aid Implications
- 12+ enrolled units: Full financial aid disbursement
- 9-11 enrolled units: 3/4 financial aid disbursement
- 6-8 enrolled units: 1/2 financial aid disbursement (minimum for loan disbursement)
