If a student loses their housing guarantee after their second year, what is the priority sequence for the Housing, Dining, and Hospitality waitlist - are students with under-represented status or those from the North Village apartments given preference
After losing their housing guarantee post-second year, students must apply to the Undergraduate Housing Waitlist to be considered for on-campus housing. The allocation of housing offers is primarily based on the application date, following a first-come, first-served model.
Priority Groups
While the waitlist operates on a general first-come, first-served basis, certain groups are prioritized:
- Students with referrals from the Office of Students with Disabilities (OSD).
- Students with dependents or children.
- Continuing students in specific mandated programs, such as the Chancellor's Associates Scholarship Program (CASP), which guarantees housing for four years.
For students interested in the North Village (Pepper Canyon West) community, priority is specifically given to transfer students, which may affect their chances compared to other applicants. However, there is no blanket priority for students with under-represented status on the general waitlist, making their chances dependent on the application date and other factors.
