Can my kid change dorm rooms winter quarter. She is is not happy with her roommate who has her boyfriend sleeping over 24/7

Roommate Conflict Resolution To initiate a room change, your student should first contact her Resident Assistant (RA) to discuss the issue. The RA will attempt mediation through a 'Restorative Dialogue' and revisit the mandatory Roommate Agreement. If mediation does not resolve the conflict, your student can meet with the Community Director (CD) to explore room change options.

Room Change Process If the CD approves the request, your student can join the Room Change Interest List via the Housing Portal, which typically opens after Week 3 of the fall quarter. Once a space becomes available, she will receive an email notification and usually has 48 to 72 hours to accept the offer and complete the move.

Important Dates

  • The Winter quarter begins on January 3, 2026, and housing charges are not prorated for changes made between January 3 and January 17, 2026.
  • If she wishes to move off-campus, a termination request must be submitted by December 11, 2025.
