My kid’s Canvas pages aren’t published yet. What’s the normal timeline at UCSD before Winter Quarter starts, and when should we worry it’s a registration issue? Thx!!
At UC San Diego, the publication of Canvas course pages is primarily at the discretion of the instructor, meaning students may not have access until shortly before or even on the first day of the Winter Quarter.
Normal Timeline for Canvas Publication
- Instructors often publish their courses a few days before classes start, the day before, or on the morning of the first class.
- After enrolling in a course via WebReg, allow 24 to 48 hours for the enrollment to be processed and reflected in Canvas.
- If you are on a waitlist, you may have access to the course site during the first two weeks of the quarter, but formal enrollment occurs only after successfully adding the class.
You should consider it a registration issue if:
- 48 hours have passed since enrollment and the course is still not visible in Canvas.
- The course appears under "All Courses" but is not published after the quarter has started.
- The course is missing from your official class schedule on TritonLink, indicating you are not officially registered.
