Our freshman at Seventh College is planning to bring a car. Does anyone have recommendations for secure parking options since she doesn’t have a campus permit yet?
For your freshman at Seventh College planning to bring a car, there are several secure parking options available without a campus permit.
Daily Parking Options
- Discount (D) Lots: Freshmen can purchase daily "D" permits for approximately $5.25 per day via the ParkMobile app. These permits are valid in lots such as P703, P704, and P705, which are connected to the main campus by free shuttles.
- SuperSaver Lots: These are the most economical on-campus daily options, priced at about $4 per day through ParkMobile (Zone 4767).
- Nights and Weekends (NW) Permits: If parking is only needed during off-peak hours, an NW permit allows parking in S, D, and some faculty spaces after 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends.
Students may also consider parking for free at the Miramar College Transit Station with a valid permit from that location and taking the MTS Rapid 237 bus to campus.
For long-term parking permits, freshmen can apply for an exception based on specific circumstances, such as off-campus employment or medical needs, by submitting an Online Exception Request Form to UCSD Transportation Services.
