I got the Middle Class Scholarship applied to my student’s account. Does anyone know when the refund usually gets issued for that?

Once the Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) is applied to a student's account, the refund process begins. Refunds are automatically issued if the scholarship covers all outstanding fees on the account.

Refund Timeline

  • Initial Awarding: MCS awards are posted mid-quarter, starting in the Fall and continuing through Winter.
  • Disbursement Trigger: Refunds are processed after the University Census, which is usually the third Friday of the term, to confirm final enrollment status.
  • Refund Processing: If the aid arrives mid-quarter, expect the refund to be issued within 5–7 business days. For direct deposits, funds are available within 2–3 business days after processing, while paper checks may take an additional 5–7 business days for mailing.
