Can a student sell swipes if they end the quarter with extra bc they don't rollover correct?
At UCLA, students are not permitted to sell their extra meal swipes, even if they do not roll over to the next quarter. While some students may engage in informal exchanges through social media, the university does not recognize or facilitate such transactions.
Authorized Options for Extra Swipes
Instead of selling swipes, students have several authorized options for managing their extra meal swipes:
- Swipe Out Hunger: Donate unused swipes during the final weeks of the quarter, which are converted into vouchers for food-insecure students.
- Treats for Travels: Premier meal plan holders can use extra swipes to purchase bulk items or snacks at select dining locations.
- ASUCLA Meal Swipe Exchange: Extra swipes can be exchanged for a cash value of $10.00 each at specific ASUCLA-operated restaurants during designated hours.
- Guest Access: Use extra swipes to pay for guests at any time during the quarter if you have a Premier meal plan.
Unused meals do not roll over from week to week for regular plans and must be used by the end of the quarter for Premier plans. Exceptions for rollover are rare and typically only occur during significant campus disruptions UCLA Dining.
