What is the deal with the ipads? Do they have to return them at the end of the year?
At Mater Dei High School, iPads are considered school-owned property and are part of a structured return policy based on a two-year refresh cycle. Students are required to return their devices at certain key points rather than annually.
Return Requirements
- Sophomores must return their iPads at the end of the school year to receive a new device for their Junior year.
- Seniors are required to return their iPads, keyboard cases, and chargers to receive graduation materials and participate in the graduation ceremony.
- Withdrawing Students must return all equipment immediately if they leave the school before graduation.
- In designated refresh years, all students may need to return their devices at the end of the spring semester to receive updated hardware.
The iPads, along with accessories, remain the property of the school and are not available for purchase. A non-refundable technology fee covers the device and associated services, while specific fees apply for damages or loss of equipment, such as:
- $50 for screen damage
- $600 for a lost iPad
