Do mid-year grades get sent to colleges automatically (for seniors) or do students have to request it through college counseling
At Harvard-Westlake, seniors do not need to request their mid-year grades; these are automatically transmitted to all colleges on their application list.
Automatic Submission Process Once first-semester grades are finalized, typically in late January, the college counseling office sends updated transcripts and Midyear Reports to all colleges where a student has an active application. This process is managed through the SCOIR platform, ensuring that all necessary materials are sent without additional action required from the students.
Student Responsibilities Students must ensure that their Regular Decision college list is accurately updated in SCOIR by early December. This is crucial for ensuring that all intended colleges receive the updated mid-year grades. If a student has been deferred from an Early Action or Early Decision application, their mid-year grades will also be sent to those colleges as part of their regular decision application update.
For any unique application concerns, students are encouraged to contact their assigned Dean directly for clarification on submission processes.
