Another major/housing question - can my daughter switch her major without switching dorms?
At Arizona State University (ASU), changing a major does not necessitate a change in housing. Students are generally bound by a year-long Housing License Agreement, which means they remain in their assigned dormitory for the entire academic year, regardless of any changes to their major.
Current Housing Policy
- Once a student has checked into their room, they are financially responsible for that space for the entire year.
- ASU Housing does not require students to move if they change their major mid-year.
- If your daughter plans to renew her housing for the next academic year, her new major may influence her housing options, as some residential communities are major-specific.
- If she switches to a major located on a different ASU campus, she may need to submit a room transfer request, which is subject to availability and approval.
