We’re hearing that some dorms on ASU’s Tempe campus are in a lockdown situation and that students returning from break are being placed in hotels. Does anyone know what’s going on, what dorms are affected, and what the university’s current plan/timeline is?
Currently, San Pablo Hall on Arizona State University's Tempe campus is experiencing a lockdown situation due to a significant maintenance issue, likely a flood, which has rendered the dorm temporarily uninhabitable. As a result, students returning from break are being redirected to hotels for accommodation.

- Dorm Name: San Pablo Hall
- Reason for Lockdown: Maintenance issue (possible flood) affecting power and infrastructure.
- Students returning to San Pablo Hall are directed to the Tooker House front desk for assistance and temporary housing in hotels, expected to last about two nights.

- All residence halls officially opened for returning students on January 10, 2026, with classes beginning on January 12, 2026.
